B&J Cattle Services LLC is a family-owned beef operation. We’ve been in the beef industry for more than 5 years. Livestock production is more than just a business for us, it’s a way of life.
To us, sustainability isn’t just about chemicals and pesticides; it’s a holistic approach to how we do business – it’s about maintaining bio-diverse pastures and caring for our animals. Numerous families live here, so producing a quality organic product is paramount to us, as is building a sustainable operation to pass on to them.
Our cattle roam on bio-diverse pastures that are free of chemicals and stress. They have a harmonious journey from paddock to plate, and we believe that’s why our beef tastes better.
Cattle Haul Services
Our top priority is the comfort and well-being of the livestock, including reducing stress to an absolute minimum during loading, transit and unloading. Our staff are fully trained, highly experienced and dedicated to ensuring the safe arrival of your livestock.
Our transport fleet comprises of modern, well-maintained trucks and spotlessly clean trailers, specially designed for livestock transport.
Feeder Calves
Rearing a newborn calf can be extremely challenging and requires much patience and commitment. The key to success is keeping the calf in a comfortable environment, well fed and free of sickness.
Calves must be kept in a clean environment with access to a dry and draught free shed area. During wet periods hand reared calves may need to be moved into the dry area until they get used to going there themselves.
Brahman
Brahmans are intelligent, inquisitive and shy. They are unusually thrifty, hardy and adaptable to a wide range of feed and climate.
Brahman Cross
Brahman cattle can be crossbred with other cattle breeds to create hybrid offspring with specific desired traits.
Angus
Angus are moderate-sized, muscular animals, renowned as a carcase breed. They are used widely in crossbreeding to improve carcase quality and milking ability.
Hereford
Hereford cows have very good calving ease thanks to their wide rumps and low calf birth weights. A special characteristic is excellent meat quality.
